Payment options in SmartVoIP/ActionVoIP & other Betamax Clones [Tips & Tricks]

For all that people have to say about Betamax clones like ActionVoIP, SmartVoIP, etc. the truth is that their prices are drawing customers in hordes. Betamax clones like ActionVoIP and SmartVoIP are offering the best VoIP deals for making cheap international calls.

However, off late, readers around the globe are complaining of the lack of payment options for buying credits. I have faced it myself. Earlier you could buy credits using your Credit Cards; however, the credit card or Paypal option is not available for users from various countries. You are forced to use uKash, Bank Transfers, Western Union, or rely on VoIP Resellers. Let us look at these options in little detail to find out the best option:

Betamax Payment Options

UKash is difficult to buy outside Europe. The problem with using one of the other methods like Western Union or VoIP Resellers is the additional charge that you have to pay. For example, most VoIP resellers would charge an additional € 1 for every € 5 that you purchase, i.e. for a credit of € 5, you have to pay € 6. The only option that remains is the Bank transfer, where you need to transfer the amount to Betamax.

Betamax Bank Transfer

The bank charges may vary, but if it is not significant this might be a good option to try. Other that bank transfer, the only viable option is the VoIP Resellers. You can buy the credits online, using credit cards or Paypal. Thankfully, even after the additional charges your effective calling rates will be lower than the other options. I tried contacting the company and they seem to have disabled some payment options for “security reasons”.

Well, since you are smart readers reading TruVoIPBuzz, here’s a smart tip for you. If you have somebody in India, who could verify your account, then you are lucky. If you get your account verified through an Indian number, you get all the options to recharge your account. Hopefully, this should make (at least some of) your lives easier.

    Tried using USA as the country, but did not get credit card/paypal options to make payment. Which service did you try and when? May be they have changed the policies recently :)

    You are right, it used to work in the past. I have carried out several transactions using my credit card, but it seems they are having some issues now. They are not allowing credit cards/paypal to users across several countries, US being one of them.

    easiest way is to select US payment method. This comes on initial recharge option. Then it will open u link for paypal. It doesnt requires any address in US nothing. Even Paypal can be used for any country.

    well i used to use the betamax, but it had been banned now in Dubai so no longer using it. People does use VPN to work on it, but i dont..

    I thought there policies may be same till now…

    Which option is easier depends on your criteria…both would take approximately the same amount of time. They might differ in terms of the charges…so that should be criteria. Find out from your bank how much do they charge for international transfers and then you can make an educated decision.

    I have been using these services from quite sometime. Now the cheapest one to India is Jumblo.com, try opening an account as an Indian national, they you will most probaly see the Credit card option and try to pay with Indian credit card. Also you can wait for few more days, the credit card option comes back ideally in a week or two even for US accounts.

    Guys, payment option with Credit card will be back in a week or so, when you next time pay, activate the auto debit option, so you won't have to worry for payment next time. Better still, pay 30 Euro at a time, so that you can save 0.50 Euro as payment charges every time.

    Alok, I cant assure that it will be back in a week; but as far as my experience goes, it mostly comes back in an week or two. I usually keep multiple accounts running, so that I stay connected in dead days.

    This is horrible…i have my cousins birthday and I cannot recharge my account…and they are not accepting any credit cards…i am pissed…hopefully the CC option activates in next 3 days…lets see…

    I have sent the money by bank transfer. They gave a local bank account number so that the money reaches much faster than abroad. But it has been 5 days and no credit is visible in SmartVoip. Is this normal?

    Sometimes, when you send money, it takes a day or two to sent to the recipient but w/ other sending money option, w/n a day the recipient will receive the money asap. Though they offer better rates than other voip company, i think they should do something about it so that people won’t look for another payment option.

    I haven't faced that in the past, but may be they have instituted this recently. They are making these weird changes to their policies. Can you at least create multiple accounts across the different Betamax services?

    Its really simple, just create an account and then go to the add credit option. Select the Local Agent option to add credits. Just scroll down and you would see a link saying “How do I become a local agent?”. Just click there and it will take you to the page where you can see if you can become a reseller. In order to become a local agent you will have to use only the following payment methods on your account and did a payment of minimal 15 EUR using only one of the following payment methods:
    * Banktransfer
    * WesternUnion
    * Ukash
    * iDeal

    Betamax is absolutely annoying. I used to use it, but every month or so, it would come out with a new version and mither me to upgrade. Because of this reason, I have stopped using their service.

    I am not sure if I understand your question correctly. But if you are looking for vouchers that you can use to recharge your Betamax accounts (ActionVoIP or SmartVoIP), you need to buy uKash or CashU vouchers.

    i also done all the payment methods before become a local agent and when i got my credit (50 Euro) then i clicked “become a local agent” then again clicked on “Check if i can become a local agent now!” after that it's said “logout and sign in after 15 minutes” i did that. but the fact is “now how can i transfer the credit to other clients”?

    Unfortunately, you need to use one of the approved methods. You can save some money on exchange rates, if you know someone is Europe who can deposit the money on your behalf.

    i tried bank transfer,but dont receive any credit even after 20 days and 3 complaints.And they made my bank ac compulsory while complaining. but bank transfers dont need as i transfered from bank.Any help or idea would be apreciated.bangkok.

    Can you bank provide a confirmation for the transaction? In that case, try contacting the customer support.

    In general, if the credit card/Paypal option is not available, I would recommend not using the provider. The risk is not worth it..

      Betamax may have (temporarily) eliminated the option to become a reseller. Companies make such channel decisions routinely.
