Since you are here, I am assuming that you want to know something about me and TruVoIPBuzz. I will try to provide some information here that will help you understand me and the site in a little more detail.
I am currently a PhD student in the Department of Marketing at the Pennsylvania State University. I have an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Before joining the PhD program, I worked as a Product Manager in a leading Insurance company in India. Prior to that, I worked as a Consultant in a leading Information Technology company in India in the telecom space. A quick disclaimer is in order. The views expressed on this site are my own and do not reflect those of my employer (current or past) or any company that has been referred to on this website.
On a more personal note, I am married to the most beautiful, loving woman in the world – Rashmi, and we are blessed with a lovely boy – Arnav. Other than blogging, I love photography. I have a modest setup – a Canon Rebel XT and a few cool lenses, tripods, filters, etc. to go with it. I also love Philately – have a few thousand stamps in my oversized Stamp books.
TruVoIPBuzz was born out of a personal necessity. When I came to the United States for my PhD, I needed to find ways to keep in touch with my family back in India without spending my little student stipend. This led me to explore the internet to find out ways to make cheap or free phone calls/text messages to India. I realized that there are not too many good websites that provide the right information in an easy-to-understand manner. However, over a period of time, I found several ways to make ultra cheap calls all over the world.
I also realized that, like me, there were several others who could benefit from this knowledge. My technical knowledge (thanks to my engineering degree) and my understanding of business and consumers provides me the right skill set to start a blog disseminating this knowledge. And, that’s how TruVoIPBuzz was born!!
I started modestly, writing guest posts on other VoIP blogs, before graduating to a Blogger hosted blog – http://truvoip.blogspot.com in August 08. Wonderful readers all across the world (including you) provided me the confidence to move a WordPress hosted site in April 09. I would like to say that I am enjoying this journey so far, making friends, and helping people stay connected with friends and family.
