Unlimited Pakistan calling plans from TalkPakistan.net [Review]

With TelephonePakistan stopping its unlimited calling plans to Pakistan, I was looking for some options for our Pakistani readers. Today, I will present another option to receive unlimited calls from Pakistan – TalkPakistan.

The way it works is very simple. TalkPakistan offers a Pakistani virtual number (DID) and you can then forward the number to your mobile or landline phones in USA, Canada, or United Kingdom (UK). Your friends and family in Pakistan can then dial the virtual number and the calls will be forwarded to the number that you specified. So, instead of the regular unlimited calling plans where you make calls, here you receive unlimited calls.

In terms of features, you do not require any additional hardware (e.g., ATA) to use the service. You can use the service without your computer. The setup is straight forward. The best part is that there is no long term commitment, you can terminate your account anytime. They even offer a money back guarantee (although they have not specified the terms clearly). If all this sounds exciting, read on for your options…

The company has two plans to offer:

1. Residential Plan: Under this plan you can only receive unlimited calls, i.e., you cannot make outgoing calls. You can sign up for the unlimited plan for only $29.99 per month. This is a much better offer than vTalkers, which offers a similar plan to receive unlimited calls from Pakistan for $39.99.
2. Business Plan: In addition to the ability to receive unlimited calls, under the business plan you can also make 500 minutes of outgoing calls to Pakistan. In summary, you are getting 500 minutes of out going calls for the additional $20 that you are paying, i.e., 4 cents per minute (which is not too bad). You can also add more lines to your account for only $14.99 instead of the regular $29.99.

If you are looking for an unlimited plan for Pakistan, this might not be a bad option. Although I was not impressed with the support. The email listed for support is not in service (emails bounce back). Also, they do not have a support number to reach them in case of any difficulties. However, if your payment mechanisms have fraud protection (most of them do) then try it out and share your feedback. There is nothing much to loose.
