TelephonePakistan stops unlimited calling plans to Pakistan [Update]

The last time we covered TelephonePakistan, it was offering a pretty nice unlimited calling plan to Pakistan. Looks like the offer was too good for TelephonePakistan to afford. Unlimited calling is a double edged sword and it can quickly backfire. We have already seen a few companies going down due to these unlimited plans. TelephonePakistan probably realized that and stopped those plans. As of writing this post, TelephonePakistan is no longer offering the unlimited Pakistan calling plans.

Instead of unlimited calling plans, TelephonePakistan is now offering regular calling to Pakistan and rest of the world. Now, you can make calls to all over the world using the calling card service provided by the company. To use the service:

1. Just create an account here.
2. Credit your account with calling credits.
3. Start making calls

TelephonePakistan offers 4.9c to Pakistan Landlines and 7.9c to Pakistani mobiles. The rate to landline phones is quite decent, however, if you call mobile phones, I would not recommend TelephonePakistan. In that case, you would be better off using Localphone’s low calling rates to Pakistan or you can even sign up for Stanacard and get $10 free calling credits.

TelephonePakistan has local access numbers in several countries, including Australia, USA, United Kingdom (UK), Canada, and most of Europe. The company offers other regular calling card features such as PINless dialing and per minute billing. They even have a customer support number. Keep in mind that it does NOT offer SIP support.

In all, I am less than impressed with TelephonePakistan’s latest offering. The company seem to be targeting the Pakistani population, however, the offer is not compelling. Having said that, if most of your calls are to a Pakistani landline, then it might fit your requirements.
