We have covered several ways to send text messages for free (and here). Today we present another great option to send unlimited free text messages to virtually any mobile in the world – KuripoTxt.
KuripoTxt is an extremely simple tool to send free text messages across the world. You do not have to register or provide your credit card details to use the service. Just go to their website and you will see a minimalist page with just two fields (see image below).
To send text messages, just enter the phone number in the international format without the + symbol, i.e., to send a message to a US number, you need to enter 1 (area code) (number). Enter the message and hit Send. You have a full 160 characters for your message. KuripoTxt does not even insert any advertisement in the message. The company claims that they deliver text messages to “virtually any mobile number worldwide’”.
In my tests, KuripoTxt did well for several destinations, including India, Germany, France, etc. All the messages were delivered almost instantly and from the same US number (408) 372-7064. For a free service, I am extremely pleased with KuripoTxt and would encourage all of you to try it out. If you have a smartphone, you can visit the site on your phone and send text messages directly from your mobile phone. Please note that KuripoTxt does not support two way or group messaging. Further, the delivery confirmation is “best case” scenario.
KuripoTxt seems to be still under development, however, it works great. I also wonder how long will the service remain FREE. The business model is not clear and it seems that the developers (Adobo Labs) are just testing the service out. Whatever the case, try it out and send unlimited FREE text messages all over the world. Also, let us know how the service worked for you.
