How-To make FREE international calls to over 21 countries [Tutorials]
| By Alok Saboo on October 29th, 2009 |
It has been long since we published our last hack on to make how to make unlimited free international calls. Since then, however, Freedomcalls has removed the landline access numbers, making it very expensive to use the hack. Today we present, another great tutorial to make unlimited free calls to over 20 countries. Read on to find out more…
This hack uses a new VoIP service – Azabu Tel. Azabu Tel is a Japan based service that allows you to make free calls to several countries by dialing their access numbers. We have already reviewed several such access number based free calls services in the past. This is the first time, we have seen such a service out of Japan. You can use Azabutel to make free calls to the following countries (* indicates mobile as well):
Canada*, China*, Hong Kong*, Singapore*, Thailand*, USA*, Australia (Melbourne, Sydney), Argentina (Buenos Aires, Cordoba), Denmark, France, Ireland, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Mexico City, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg), Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom (UK)
To make a call, dial their access numbers 03-4580-0235 or 03-4580-0236 and then dial 010 and the international number, i.e., if you want to dial USA, you need to dial the access number and then dial 010 1 (area code) (number). So, how is this different from the other access based free calling service?
Well, the big thing is that he access number is not any premium number, but a regular landline number and there are several options to make FREE calls to Japan. Get it? You can use one of the many options to make free calls to the Japanese access number and then dial your international number. Most of the Betamax providers provide free calls to Japan landline, e.g., Rynga, SmartVoIP, Jumblo, Nonoh, etc. Please note that if you are dialing the number from out of Japan, you need to dial +81345800235. If you want to automate the whole thing, you could use our smart dialing tutorial.
Great…so now you know how to make unlimited free calls to over 20 countries. Enjoy!!!

Well but anyway you need to buy credit with betamax products to call japan for free and unlimited. And furthermore with most of the Betamax products you can call these countries… so what s the interest of that?
That is a great observation, however, you cannot call all the destinations for free using Betamax products, e.g., Argentina, Israel, Russia, etc. So although I agree that this is not the most revolutionary hack, it is great for lot of readers.
Hope you see the point…

I tried calling Azabu Tel from my voipdiscount account and it doesn't work…
Can you be a little more specific? What do you mean when you say “it doesn't work”? Which leg are you having trouble – dialing the access number, dialing the destination number?
I am having trouble dialing the access number. I try calling +81345800235 from the voipdiscount application and it gives me a busy signal immediately with an error message “The other party ended the call”. It seems though that the call doesn't get through.
VoIP providers usually block these numbers to avoid revenue leakage. Unfortunately, you cannot even get in touch with the customer service to clarify the exact issue. Try other provider (if you can) to see if the problem is only with VoIPDIscount..

This free service has not been functioning for sometime now. The last time I used it was a few weeks ago and now get a recording about having phone time with an unknown person and that azabu, tel.will not be responsible for the content of that call. aug 26th 2010. What happen to the free call service?
May be they have stopped their service. That is one of the problems with these free services, they are not very reliable. Hopefully, we will find something like it soon
