Unlimited FREE International calls to India and other countries [Free Call]

By Alok Saboo on September 7th, 2009

It has been long since we had a great deal to make free international calls. Today we have a great deal for you to make unlimited free international calls to India and several other countries and save money. Read on to find out more…

Freecall2India is offering free international calls to several countries including India. To make the free call:

  • Dial their local access number. Currently they have local access numbers in three countries: Brazil, UK, and USA.
  • If you are in Brazil, you can dial either (21) 7878 8511 or (31) 7878 8511. If you are in UK, you can dial 0844 880 2451. If you are in USA, you can dial 631 763 1059. Just check the charges you would incur to call these access numbers before making your call.
  • After connecting, you just dial your destination number in the format: Country Code + Area Code + Phone Number. No need to dial 00 or 011 before the country code, i.e., for India, you would dial 91 22 2222 3333.
  • Currently you can make free calls to:

Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Canada Mobile, Chile, China, China – Mobile, Colombia , Croatia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hong Kong – Mobile, India, India – Mobile, Indonesia , Italy, Japan, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico , Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Singapore – Mobile, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Thailand – Mobile, United Kingdom, United States , United States Mobile, Venezuela

Note that not all the cities within a country are supported. Also, mobiles are supported only for some countries. So check your destination before making the call.

The best part of the service is that you do not have to register or provide any credit card details to use the service. You do not have to listen to any advertisement to make free calls. Just dial the access numbers and start talking. The call duration may vary by destination. For India, I was able to make a 10 minute call. You can even redial the number after your call is disconnected, allowing you to make almost unlimited calls. In my tests, the call quality was not too bad. There was a slight delay, but you cannot really complaint for a FREE service. If you do not get through, keep trying!! We have had similar services offering free calls using access numbers from Australia or London, but Freecall2India is offering USA access number as well :)

If you are in the USA, you could use Google Voice so that you also save on the local phone charges and so that you do not divulge your real number. These services are often not very reliable, but try them while they last. Please let us and your fellow readers know about your experience and the call durations to various destinations.

Meanwhile, do not forget to get calling  credits to make free international calls to entire world.

Yeah….looks like they could not keep up with the demand. Don't know what went wrong…sometimes too many users can be problematic :)

You have residential VoIP providers such as Vonage that offer unlimited plans. But, I would suggest that you take a look at your usage. You may be better off with other providers such as Localphone or Rebtel.
