Using Skype? Try Skype phone [Tips]

Skype is literally synonymous to VoIP for a lot of people. Skype provides you with the ability to make free voice and video calls across the world. However, a major complaint against Skype is the lack of flexibility in terms of using Skype. If you are using Skype, but do not want to be constrained to the computer, you should definitely consider a Skype phone adapter.

A Skype phone is an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) that plugs in to your computer and provides a standard telephone jack to connect your regular phone. These devices allow you connect your regular telephone and often use it for both Skype and regular calls. By connecting a cordless phone, you can essentially free yourself from your computer. Some devices can also allow remote calling, wherein, you can make low cost calls even when you are not close to your computer. All you need to do is dial in to your computer and have it make a low cost SkypeOut calls. You can also carry this device when you are travelling and use it to make low cost Skype calls while travelling to save on international roaming charges.

If you are in the United States, you may want to consider the current deal on the D-Link Skype phone adapter. Newegg is offering the D-Link’s DPH 50U Skype phone adapter for $10 after a $10 mail in rebate. For $10, this is a great device!!  It retails for $49, but under this deal you can have one for $10.

While you can also use Skype on mobile, such devices are another way to improve your Skype experience.
