If you, or your business, have used any commercial conferencing service, you know that these services do not come cheap. Conferencing is a cost-effective alternative to face-to-face meetings. In the pursuit to improve efficiency, more and more companies are exploring this option. If you want to use conference facility but do not want to pay those hefty charges you could explore Freeconferenceservice.com.
As the name suggests, Freeconferenceservice provides FREE conference facility. With the free facility you will be able to hold a conference with 50 participants. In my past experience, this is reasonable enough. Most conference calls do not even reach that number. Also, it is often difficult to coordinate a large group on telephone. All you need to do is signup for an account and you will get the conference number, a Host pincode and a Guest pincode. The conference coordinator then has to distribute the pincode to the participants. If you have used conference calls in the past, you know how to use them. But for the newbies,
- A Conference number is the number that everyone dials to connect to the conference call. Once you dial the conference number, you need to authenticate yourself so that the system can put you in the correct conference. This authentication is achieved by means of pincodes: host pincode and guest pincode.
- Host pincode, identifies the host and usually has additional options like muting all the participants, recording the conference, etc.
- Guest pincode is for all the other participants.
If you want additional lines (additional participants), you need to pay $2 per additional line. The service is available 24/7 and there is even an option to get a toll free conference number (which is obviously paid).
I tested the service myself and the sound quality is good. It also has decent options for a free service. Please note that this service is available only in the US, i.e. they provide you a US conference number. But if you are in some other country, you can always use one of these tricks (here or here) to call the US number for free. Further, if you are holding an international conference call, it is often cheaper to call a US number. All and all, its a decent solution for your conference needs.
